India’s GDP is currently the second highest in the world after China and is estimated to be over 9% annually. Gujarat under the dynamic leadership of our Chief Minister, Shri Narendra Modi with its industry friendly policies is widely viewed as the growth engine of the Indian economy.
However to sustain and enhance the growth curve, the next big challenge before Indian industry is availability of good manpower. Industries have large requirements for manpower in every department, on a regular basis. However, they are unable to get reliable and quality manpower so as to satisfy their specific needs.
On the other hand, there are a large number of educated unemployed youth who are still looking for gainful career opportunities. Government of Gujarat is seized of this matter and has set a vision of 0% unemployment for our state. The youth of India are major contributors to the India growth story and we in Gujarat have a major responsibility to see that they have a satisfying career.
Vadodara Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) has taken an initiative to provide career opportunities to fresh pass-outs and unemployed youth of Gujarat. As a part of this effort, VCCI is developing a portal for fresh pass outs entitled www.vcci4freshers.org. This portal will attempt to fill the gap between the career aspiration of fresh pass-out on one hand and the manpower requirements of trade industries, academic institutions and various organisations on the other. Efforts are on to collect information about manpower requirements of industries as well as data about fresh pass-outs.
